Sweet Joy was found abandoned recently, most likely by a hunter with no use for her.
Her ears have been cut and even her chip was forcibly removed from her. Despite her trauma, Joy is a sweet gentle little girl. When she was first spotted at the shelter, she was simply staring at the wall, barely moving out of fear.
Joy was then moved into private kennels in hopes she would start to trust again, but she was still so scared, barely moving around or eating.
One of our team members Holly has taken Joy into temporary foster care to see if a warm safe loving environment was what she needed, and she is now starting to flourish as shes now feeling safe and loved.
Joy loves getting cuddles and really enjoys her walks and walks so well on the leash. Joy does get along with all other dogs, but can become a bit timid and nervous around other hyper dogs, so she would best thrive in a calm relaxed home environment.
Joy needs a family that can give her lots of love and make her feel safe.
